"Recommended 2026" seal: how it is chosen
Every year we give the "Recommended 2026" seal to the three best rated businesses of each type in Andorra: burger places, ski resorts, pharmacies… Its customers choose it with their reviews, not us, and the rule is the same for everyone.
How it is chosen
- 1
A minimum of quality
The business needs a Google rating of 4.5 or more and at least 50 reviews. With few reviews, a high rating doesn't say much yet.
- 2
A ranking for each type of business
We rank each type of business across Andorra (burger places, pharmacies, ski resorts…) by a weighted average of the rating and the number of reviews. It is the same ranking you see in every list of the directory. Only types with 5 or more businesses count.
- 3
The top three
The seal goes to the top 3 of each ranking. The first carries "No. 1" on the seal; the second and third, a star. Each one must reach the minimum of quality on its own: if the second doesn't, the seal doesn't go to the fourth.
- 4
Every year, again
The seal carries the year (2026). In January we work out the rankings again: the seal goes to whoever is in the top three then.
The weighted average
So that a business with very few reviews doesn't beat one with hundreds, we add 20 imaginary reviews at the directory's average rating (4.2) to every business. The more real reviews it has, the less the imaginary ones weigh.
(n × rating + 20 × 4.2) ÷ (n + 20)
| Google rating | Reviews | Ranking score |
|---|---|---|
| 4.8 | 3,064 | 4.80 |
| 5.0 | 10 | 4.47 |
| 4.5 | 137 | 4.46 |
Example: the 5.0 with 10 reviews ends up behind the 4.8 with over 3,000.
What doesn't count
- Paying: being a featured business in the directory doesn't change the ranking position or give the seal.
- Being a client of EDES, the company that publishes the directory.
- Reviews written by the business itself or bought: if we spot them, the business is left out.
Show it on your website, social media or premises
If your business is in the top three of its type, we prepare the seal with its name, its position and its Google rating, which updates itself. For your website we give you the code to copy; for social media and printing (door, menu, counter), the high-quality image. It's free.
Want your seal?
Write to us with the name of your business and we will send it in the format you prefer.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the seal cost?
Nothing. It's free and can't be bought: customers' reviews decide.
My business has a 5.0. Why doesn't it have the seal?
It may have fewer than 50 reviews, or another business of its type may have a similar rating with many more reviews. With the weighted average, the number of reviews counts too.
What if I drop out of the top three?
You keep the 2026 seal, which says you were there that year. At the January review, the new year's seal goes to whoever is in the top three then.
Do I have to link to your website?
It isn't required. The code we give has the image linking to your business page so your customers can see your reviews, but you can use the seal however you like, printed too.
Is there a seal for each parish?
No. There are three per type of business for all of Andorra, so the seal really means you are among the best rated in the country at what you do.
